Reading Buddies

Our class had been working with Mrs. Godzicki’s 5th grade class since September. Mrs. Godzicki’s students are our Reading Buddies since they come into our classroom and work one-on-one using various reading activities. Each time we meet, one of our students is paired up with a different 5th grade buddy. The kids have a wonderful time showing their creativity and having their new buddy read with them.     I have been here at Pennoyer since 2001 and I feel that my personal teaching philosophy is reflected by how I teach. It is so important to be able to address the needs of all the students in my class. Through various activities and hands-on learning, I know that each student can succeed. I also feel that parent communication is key. The consistent communication keeps a strong partnership and support for the child.
